When Max spends her holidays with her uncle Ben and aunt Eleanor on their farm in Mindawarra, she thinks she’ll never survive the boredom until she discovers they are world famous scientists working on a secret project: a Time and Space Machine.
Ben used to work for the British government but after a terrible double cross moved back to Australia to work on his inventions. His lab is always a terrible mess but he tells Max he thinks better that way.
Later in the series Max discovers something very exciting about Ben.
